  • Stevie Wonder is seriously injured in a North Carolina car crash (he’s in a coma for four days, but recovers), 1973
  • Chubby Checker shows America how to do “The Twist” on Dick Clark’s prime-time TV show on ABC, 1960
  • Production begins on the movie “Rock Rock Rock” with Chuck Berry, LaVern Baker, Frankie Lymon and Connie Francis singing for Tuesday Weld, 1956
  • Canada: British rock group Procol Harum played a concert in Edmonton Alberta, accompanied by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a singing group. The album was released in May of 1972 under the obvious name “Procol Harum In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra”.
